If Moto G isn't an option it depends. Do you want a bigger or smaller screen?

Doesn't Matter that much probably around 5" I think I am a phone noob.

Then the Nexus 5 is a good option, if you don't mind paying more.

Is the battery life good, I have heard it is pretty bad?

Not horrible. A cousin of mine has one and he gets through a day with it, keep in mind that if you're coming from a feature phone the difference will be quite big.

Out of the options you gave, I'd go with the Nexus 5 for only $100. Is that an on contract price?

Yes, I am fine with that because I don't plan on changing my provider any time soon.

Nexus 5 if you want clean android with pretty good processing power and VERY good audio quality, moto x or g if you want features :D

Honestly, the audio quality is just okay. Although then again I think I have a bad audio processing chip because I get terrible battery life when listening to music on it.

I messed up on the posting, I meant the mic, the mic is certainly the good part about the phone

I fix computers and computer accessories... sometimes... when I want to...

I have a pretty terrible mic too... (As you can probably tell I need to RMA the device) unless whatever I'm recording is really loud the gain goes up and down which makes it sound like wind cutting in and out (I tested indoors).

The LG G2 on Amazon is cheap with a contract (ranging from $.01-$50)

The N5 is a great phone, but anyone who has tried both says the G2 is just a upgraded N5.

Linux "nerd".  If I helped you please like my post and maybe add me as a friend :)  ^_^!
