How to portably power a 12v fan.

Rylyguy

I have a 12v pc fan that I need to power outside of a pc. So I need something that has a battery built in that I can use to power the fan. TIA

how long does it need to run for?

A 9V Battery will work for a little while.

Depending on the fan amperage, you can get a boost converter and power it off USB (USB powerbank). I did that for a while and it works fine.

I’m making a cooling system for a laptop so I was hoping that whatever I use would be rechargeable.

Buy a USB powered laptop cooling stand with 1 or 2 fans in it?  Skip "powering" it entirely?

Well I’m trying to do a custom thing. I’m entirely swapping out the stock hardware with custom. Someone else recommended a usb boost converter which I’m looking into and could work but thanks for the help.

Is this what you mean? https://www.amazon.com/ACEIRMC-Converter-3-5V-12V-1-2V-24V-Regulator/dp/B08RJ622C2/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=usb+boost+converter+12v&qid=1623763123&sr=8-3 ps. The fan requires 0.15 amps
