Theres usually a small bend because it takes some force to insert it all the way until it snaps in (and even more force to remove it ugh) though I've never heard any crunching so maybe its a good idea to check the back of the motherboard around that area.

There's nothing unusual in the back, so does that mean it's okay?

Motherboard PCBs have multiple layers so if anything cracked it could be internal. Though its only a guessing game at this point. If its a new motherboard you could RMA it should any problem arise. But for now if it works fine, use it as you would normally.
