So recently, for what ever reason, decided to change a few things to try to get better cooling, reapplied thermal paste and changed fan configuration.

Before I was getting 30-35c at idle but now getting 40-50c

Two questions:

1. I've come to the realization that I have no idea how to set up fans in my rig..

running 10 fans, daisy chained in sets of 3 and one stand alone

they are going into a splitter:

then that splitter going into a Hub:

then the hub connected to my mother boards sys_fan.  I am able to control all fans via bios

Is that acceptable or is there a more efficient/better way?

2.  I have the Arctic freeze II 360. i have the fans separate (they daisy chain to the block then block gets plugged into CPU_fan header on mother board.)

I currently have no fans daisy chained but the block is still plugged into the CPU_fan header.

In bios im not seeing any pump rpm. I also don't remember if when i had them daisy chained together (default set up) if i was able to see pump rpm and change the speed.

Is this wrong O_o?

Is there anyone out there that has the same set up that could help?

again sorry for sounding like a noob 😞

10 fans is probably more than you need.  Which way they are pointing and where they are is more important than how many.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

3 side intake, 3 bottom intake, 3 top exhaust, back 1 exhaust

6 in 4 out, overpressure case. Any of those have a radiator on them?

Yes the top 3

Might point the bottom ones out too just to see what will happen.  It will be better, worse, or the same. Changes from a positive pressure to a negative pressure case.  The thing about case air is it’s fluid dynamics and fluid dynamics can get insanely complicated.  For a very long time the could only even research it using miniatures.  That’s what wind tunnels were for.   These days it can be done using a LOT of computing power, but it doesn’t make it any simpler.  Basically cooling behavior can change wildly with small changes.  Without modeling stuff the only thing that can be done is just try a bunch of things.  It might be for example that better temps could be gotten simply by removing some fans or placing a taped playing card somewhere or other in the case.  Only thing to do is just try a bunch of stuff.  There are some general rules of thumb, but that’s all they are and they can be broken without a lot of effort.
