Storage Controller causes drives to fail

davidst95

Hi, I purchased a sas9207-8i Storage Controller on eBay for an UnRAID server.   After I connect my drives (2x WD Red 10GB, 2x8 WD Red, and two 1GB SATA SSD Drives), two of the drives were not detected.   When I reconnect all of them to SATA ports on the motherboard, it couldn't detect the SSD at all, and one of the 10GB Red drives status says "Data error (cyclic redundancy check).  I also ran a few scans on the drive, and all say 100% bad blocks.   Both drives work perfectly before connecting them to the controller.

Do you know what I did wrong and cause this to happen?   Could the Storage Controller cause this to happen?   I would not like this to happen again, and not sure if I should reconnect the drives or just buy a new controller?   Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!
