Electric duster safe for cleaning displays?

shafirpl

Just wondering, is a datavac electric duster like this one (https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX37982) safe for blowing dust away from screens ( I have a Samsung 43 inch tv and odyssey g7 27 inch monitor). I used to use canned air, followed by damped microfibre cloth ( I use whoosh screen cleaning spray to damp the cloth) but planning to use my existing duster instead of canned air.
Thanks

Just apply screen cleaner and wipe it off with a dry microfiber cloth. That's how i've always cleaned my displays and it always worked flawlessly. You don't need any compressed air to clean a display.

If you just want to remove dust, you can wipe it without screen cleaner. Just use a microfiber cloth.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

i dont really see an issue with that, except you *will* get micro scratches which can be visible after a while (in direct sun light for example)

Definitely better to use a screen cleaner imo.

Even better if you first blow the dust away though!

I'm considering getting the CompuCleaner for cleaning dust from my new OLED monitor screen. In your experience, is this blower safe to use for this purpose? Considering how strong this blower is, I'm concerned there could be a risk of blowing fine particles at the screen which could actually produce scratches (which could be seen with a bright torch), or am I just being paranoid? Thanks!

I've been cleaning my screens for decades using nothing but a cheap microfiber cloth and a quick dab on my tongue for slight lubrication.

I've NEVER run into issues with screen damage and micro-scratches. From CRT TVs to LG OLED 48" C1 to my MBP 16" MiniLED.
