Still new to managing my pc and wanted to see if anyone could help with this. So just yesterday my ports stopped detecting my kmb and i'm not entirely too sure why. My pc has been working fine i've checked all I can and so far nothing seems to be working and can't use my since my usb ports on the front seemed to have been damaged while shipping so all i have to work with are the ones in the back. I want to assume skipping on the recent windows updates might've caused this not allowing my drivers to properly update, but if anyone has a fix to this or even an idea how I can fix please let me know as I said it's not allowing me to use my kbm so any help even if have to reset it completely without the kbm is appreciated  :^)

One that can happen is if you install an m.2 in some motherboards it can turn ports off.  That would entail the installation of an m.2 somewhere though.   My personal practice is Never skip a windows update because of security stuff. Win10 has been something of a mess so sometimes things need to be rolled back again.

Some stuff, especially Logitech stuff has their own drivers and don’t necessarily work right without them.  If you stuff is generic though, I got Got 3 ideas:

1. Update your windows and see what happens.  Might need to do some sort of reinstall as well.  Win10 has a bunch of levels of reinstall though and I’m not familiar with them.  Real possible a clean install isn’t needed.

2. If that doesn’t fix things try moving the bits to different USB ports and see if that works.

3. if that fails too, it could be peripheral hardware. buy a junk new keyboard and mouse you know work that use generic drivers and see if they function then start at the top again.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

I posted about this earlier, but felt as if I left a couple things out that I wanted to include so my usb ports aren't wokring they all function, but about a day ago those usb ports stopped detecting my keyboard and mouse meaning I wasn't able to do anything couldn't access my bios nor enter my login to my pc so I looked into the problem and turns out I missed out on some windows updates that lead to my drivers not detecting my kmb, but unfortunately I can't anything about it since I can't move anything at all so if there's maybe a way I can wipe my hard drive and or reset the updates and start over again without the ability to use my keyboard and mouse I also have and extra rig I can work with if needed so please any help would be apricated and just for refence this is my current build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tnKWTJ thank you :^)

Tried plugging the mouse into the front USB? You should be able to use the on screen keyboard so it's not an issue that it's only 1 usb port.

oh no it's all of them like it's not detecting it on any so I'm unable to use a on screen keyboard unfortunately

Can you use it in the BIOS?

It doesn't let me no i'm not sure what to do from there either like my keyboard when plugged flashes for a split second and just stops and i've checked my keyboard on an old rig to make sure it's not that and it works fine

Then it's not an issue with the update you missed. You should unplug your pc, remove the CMOS battery, hold the power button for 10s and put everything back together. I think the BIOS settings somehow messed up. If this doesn't help your motherboard is probably faulty.

Just tried it didn't fix the problem i'm not too sure if it's a motherboard faultily i mean it's been working fine the past couple of days, but as I said not sure at all do you think there's maybe a way I can wipe my drives and hope a reset does the trick?

If you can plug the drives into the other PC you can format them. The issue would probably be the OS drive, so only wiping that should be fine too. But since you can't get into the BIOS I don't think this is going to work, but you can always try.
