3080ti is 750w enough?

SchnitzelDaemon

Just got a 3080ti in the FE drop (yes I can't believe it either). Is a seasonic focus 750w enough to power it or should I upgrade?

Oh right, 5800x

if you already have the PSU, give it a go

if it's insufficient, upgrade then

it's most likely enough

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

And if not get a revolution D.F. 850w. A lot of 750w psu's can't handle a 3080 when under high load together with the cpu.

The peak of that CPU is 140 to 180W, DAMN.

180+~350(gpu max, though up it to 400 for good measure) and we are talking about a wattage of 580-600-620W...

You defintely have some room left though if you add 5-15W à 1 drive, then some other stuff, perhaps even led, keyboard, mainboard, fans, cpu fan, etc... You're starting to get closer and closer to 700W at peak, and then it's just a matter of 50-80W.

Go for it, you've a decent enough buffer even in a worst-case scenario at peak, but remember to upgrade in the (distant) future.

Nvidia's official recommendation for the 3090 + Ryzen 7/i7 was 750W.

If you bumped that to a Ryzen 9/i9, it was 850W.

3080Ti is the same TGP as the 3090 so it should be safe to use those same numbers.

My experience comes from running a 3090FE/5800x combo on a Corsair SF750 Platinum and its been flawless.
