Have been searching for a new Corsair SF750 for a while now. Came across a guy on eBay selling genuine, official, new and sealed SF750s. Lots of ratings, pretty much all positive, eBay store, barely above msrp (out of stock everywhere here).

I bought one, but now being eBay and learning after the fact that Corsair probably won’t support a warranty, even thought it’s brand new, I’m having buyers remorse. No returns listed but it’s under buyer protection, used PayPal, etc. I can also get the square trade protection, but don’t want to damage computer if it’s bad. I’m probably paranoid I know. Pictures showed new sealed product and it even showed the lot code/barcode and the one pictured was not one of the ones in the recall range.

Hopefully turns out all good, just didn’t know if others have had experience with new PSUs and eBay.

Chances of it being bad are incredibly slim. Just use it and enjoy. I've purchased many used PSUs from eBay (all Corsair, fwiw) and they lasted the couple of years I'd have the build. I imagine they continued to work just fine after that. If you want the long warranty, then yes, you need to buy from a proper retail source.

Never purchased used PSUs from eBay, but just to add my two cents here:

I would never purchase a power supply from a seller that does not provide returns or where the manufacturer will not accept an RMA from. Something that is crucial to the operation of a computer, and when it fails, with the likelihood of the PSU taking other components with it, are too risky and would pay $20-50, hell maybe even $100 more.

Yeah I would never purchase used either. This one was brand new, sealed and never used. But I also get what you are saying about the whole no returns thing. Believe me, if I was able to buy from a popular retailer or the manufacturer I would 100%. Every retailer has said no eta on restock and Corsair didn’t know when it would be available again. But yes, I would never buy a used PSU either.

That’s what I’m hoping. Being new, I would hope no harm would come to any other components, but I guess you could run that risk new anywhere from just a bad PSU in general. Hopefully being new and sealed still, the risk is even less here. But still, having second thoughts.

Did you look at other PSU manufacturer's options for SFF PSUs?

I did. Quite a bit. There were lots of complaints on various other ones from coil wine and loud fans to failures across the board and everyone always came back to or recommended this PSU.

Yeah, that's why I actually don't mind buying used components; unless they're being misleading, you won't have a DOA unit. I've had more problems with new products than used.
