I cannot update Windows or reinstall Windows

I have maybe made 2 post about this but I cannot find a solution. I do not have a 2nd storage drive and when I tried reinstalling Windows it will stop half way through and say it failed. I don't know what should I do either get a new storage drive or what?

if you have a USB drive (and don't care about the data on the PC) you could try wiping the SSD/HDD and completely re-installing windows.

You can use the media creation tool to make an installer USB

why no dark mode?

Yeah, wipe the drive cleanly with a fresh install.

I've spent weeks trying to fix Windows Update issues before down to using some pretty hardcore methods through the DISM tool only to still have it fail.

Wiping the drive fresh always fixes it!

Try the update assistant:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

I have a machine that didn't want to install 21H1 from windows update and DISM /check-health couldn't even run, and the update assistant properly updated and everything's good again.

If that still doesn't work then yes create install media on usb stick, back up your data and wipe/reinstall.

That does not work for men it always fails halfway through

How do I completely wipe a drive? I think I attempted it when I choose the option to to wipe everything from the drive but it still did the same thing and stopped working halfway through

You boot from install media, select Other Install, get a prompt to choose which drive to install to and delete existing partitions / select the newly present free space there.

Same issues here recently. My WU was just completely screwed but luckily, an hour later I had a completely fresh install with all my apps reinstalled.

If you have other drives on this machine, be careful when deleting partitions.
