Need advice pretty please

Basically, I was cleaning out my pc t other day, completely disassembled it, went to reassemble it, accidentally put my cooler on a little too tight, so I took off my CPU cooler went to put it back on bloody CPU fell off onto the floor went to put it back in pins were bent!!!!!! It doesn't even fit in the socket, is there anywhere I can take it to get pins repaired or is that not possible or have I completed messed up my ryzen 1600

 

which has served me well for years Mans sad doesn't really want to buy a CPU right now, can't afford it till end of the month, if there is any way I can get it fixed please tell me? Else I'll just have to wait till end of month

I fix bent pins myself with my credit card. it fits perfectly.

Sometimes they can be bent back. Depends on how bad it is and a bit on luck. It's not for the faint of heart and hard to recommend doing (or even finding someone to fix it) without seeing a picture of how bent they are.

 

To give you an idea of what it takes based on how bad it is, this is Linus fixing a pretty broken one.

 

And Jay fixing a less broken one.

how bad is the damage? if it's a single pin you can use a mechanical pencil to slowly SLOWLY nudge it back in place.

I finish work shift in 40 minutes when I'm home I will take a photograph of if before I decide to do anything with it, I'd proberbly say about 15 pins are out of place, it won't even fit in the motherboard socket now, as soon as I get home I will take a photograph

if you have that many pins bend, you should use the credit card method. as always, check out some videos first, take your time, don't rush.

Just finished work shift will be home in 15 minutes to show you the monstrosity of how my pins look in my in my CPU to wait and show you guys to determine whether it's fixable or not

Can always try.  If the credit card doesn't work, the credit will work.

 

Stop worrying, and get to trying to fix it.  Go shopping if not.

 

Edit:  I am betting no, it won't fix it.  Too may bent, you will most likely break a couple (simple %).  You really did some damage.

Agreed. Two of those corners are going to be pretty rough. I'd recommend watching a couple of those videos about how to fix it, and thinking long and hard about it before you start. And if you do decide to start trying, take your time, and try to make as little movement to the pins as possible so they don't break off from moving back and forth too much.

 

Also, be prepared to have to buy a new one. I don't give it great odds even if you're experienced at fixing the pins.

I'd still try with other sets of pins. You won't get the CPU working without resoldering. Since it already needs resoldering it makes a good test baby for bending pins.

What motherboard are you using?  Replacement 1600's can be had for $100-$125 used, or $150 new it looks like.

 

But you may be able to get a few more cores and/or some more clock speed out of similar pricing, depending on what can fit on your mobo.

Sorry for the late reply I'm using an Asus Rog strix gaming motherboard b350-f, without a CPU till the end of the month so no pc tried fixing the CPU kinda just made it worse but at the end of the month any suggestions oh what CPU I shud get?

Do you need a GPU?  That board (with updated BIOS) can fit all the way up to the Ryzen 3xxx lineup.

 

So you could replace that 1600 for $160, or grab a 3600 for $210.  Amazon pricing, if all I checked.  I'd probably opt for the 3600 as it will last you a good solid 3-5 years and support a decent GPU very well.
