Budget (including currency): $2,500 - $3,000

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Upcoming games like Dying Light 2 and school work.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

This is going to be a whole new build and this is what I have atm. Any idea to help me still make this good and cheap would be a great help.769485217_download(2).thumb.png.24fd5e02c88ec4f8784690ee560cdbe1.png

Ok so this is just a awful value system. 600$ for what is a low mid range card is crazy let alone the other prices.

I would simply get a prebuilt as the core specs of this system can be found in good 800-900$ prebuilts. Then just add a bigger ssd. But don't waste your money on a 980 pro. It will NOT AT ALL be faster in the tasks you have described compared to a cheap mx500 2tb ssd. Like at all.

This thing exists and STOMPS on your current system here.

Now for the build:

Overpaying for the motherboard. Plenty cheaper boards that are just as good if not better

Beyond overkill cooling and a waste of money

No need for 32gb of ram for gaming

Ssd already said that

Gpu is such a bad value so I advise a prebuilt

No need for windows retail. Go on ebay and get a 3$ key.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zG9FNP this one should do what you need but you still need a gpu and for an os you can get one from ebay for max 20$

Yeah you made a good sensible build that is not worse in any way compared to ops. The only issue is gpu and that is basically unobtainium now. Hence my recommendation for the actually fairly decently made hp prebuilt (and for a prebuilt that is saying A LOT compared to the dumpsterfire that others are).

Will this PC still be good for streaming because I wanted to get into stream as well?

I'd strongly advise not going for that prebuilt.

Some of the changes I'd make to your original list are:

Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite | Simply put, it costs less and will do everything that the other board can that you'll actually use. -$70

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 | While you could argue that overkill cooling isn't a bad thing, you're going to want the budget headroom. -$150

PSU: EVGA Supernova 550 GA | Your CPU is rated at 65W, so you can throw some pretty hungry cards in with it and still be safe. -$60

An RTX 3060, 3060 Ti, 3070, or RX 6700 XT will be your most optimal choices for this system. If you're reasonably near a Micro Center, you should be able to find one of these at a price that doesn't make you gag.

Why? It is one of the few prebuilts that aren't crap. It also just straight up has FAR better specs for a LOWER price than ops build.
