By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

What is the mouse and what software were you using to configure it on Windows?

It's a glorious model o and I used to use the software given by the company but it is not compatible with linux. I've tried wine, didn't detect the mouse.

For some brands like Razer people have made linux configuration apps, but it seems that doesn't exist for glorious so basically you can't. 

You can set up profiles stored in the mouse on Windows, then change between them with the botton on the mouse itself but not configure from linux.

Install Virtual Box and the most current Extension Pack (without this the device won't be fully passedt hrough to the VM) then spin up a Windows 10 VM, pass the mouse though fully by manually selecting it as a USB device (note that this will stop the mouse from working in Linux until you shut down the VM), install the software and configure.

 

BIG WARNING!!!!!! - Do not try to update any firmware using this method. While it technically should be fine and most likely won't cause an issue, for pretty obvious reasons its not a good idea. This method works on my Corsair Keyboard & AIO and my ROG Pugio Mouse.
