Finally finished my pc build and desk setup, for now at least.

pc:

Ryzen 5 3600

b450 tomahawk max

16gb 3200 ram

RTX 2070 super

corsair tx550m

crucial p1 ssd

seagate 2tb hdd聽

recently upgraded case and cooler from thermal take case to Corsair 275r airflow and the cooler from a stock one to a be quiet dark rock pro 4 (maybe a bit overkill but oh well).

When I first got the desk I had 2 22 inch monitors and decided to upgrade to 2 27 inch ones didn鈥檛 realise how large they would be tho 馃槀. The monitors are aoc 27g2u 144hz.

mouse and keyboard are Corsair k65 lux rgb and m65 pro.

Any suggestions for what could be next would be cool,

ive attached pictures for the pc and the desk.

Cutting it close eh? I hope ya dont overclock it beyond XMP profile, that thing is at knives edge of power limit.

yeah the display port cables with the monitors were just too short and it annoys me too, also the two cables coming from the socket are actually now stuck to the underside of the desk so there is less hang

I run a 5600x and a 2080 off a 550w psu. When running stress tests, I only hit about 390w. Gaming is closer to 320w. He's fine.聽

But its not ideal at all imo, as you wont have any headroom for extra things in your computer (overclocks, more storage, big coolers or more fans) and youre risking tripping the breaker at some point.

Not really. I have 3x 3.5 hdds, 2x ssd and some fans. The 3600 (or my case, the 5600x) is really quite low power. A bigger unit will not hurt, as it will better follow as you upgrade to more cores, but there is zero reason to think that it is under powered.聽

In my mind, ltt and other tech tubers have done a poor job explaining actual power needs, instead just slapping in 850w units for lols. I get why, people want balls out systems. But explain that it's really not needed.聽
