making media server

im going to use i7 4790 or i5 4460 (probably will go on the i7)

i want to buy cooler that will cool the cpu and wont make a lot of noise

any recommendations?

Well, without a budget or case constraints, that's easy.

A media server isn't usually very CPU intensive so there is not much need for fancy cooling. So something like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 will do fine, or maybe the Noctua NH-U12S

What case and ram are you using?

Where are you shopping / located? Budget?

not looking for something expensive

the case is mid tower basically every fan will fit there is no size issue
