Ethernet vs Wifi

emotionalpig

I know that ethernet is the better option compared to wifi for my pc, but my wifi box is across my house (80ft more or less). Should I go wireless or is it worth is to buy the long ethernet cable and connect?

Depends. If you want low latency gaming/streaming with high reliability, go wired. For  Everything else WiFi is good enough.

I personally always go for ethernet whenever possible. Simply because it is more stable. Problem with wifi is that you might need to overcome windows and walls, let alone ceilings / floors.

But it also depends on what it is that you need. if you're ok with a bit more latency and a drop in download speed, than go for it.

Unraid system: Epyc 7352, 24/48, 96GB ECC buffered @2666mhz, 2x GT710, GTX1050Ti
