Find and Repalce

GeorgeKellow

Hi All,

I am having an issue within word and a web broswer. When I type the letter/numbers 5 6 0 or s a find and replace dialog box pops up.

How do I stop this from happening? I have never come across thsi before!!

Don't go to such extreme conclusions without even trying anything.

dude I had 2 laptops fixed for the same issue. You don't know what the other side of your monitor have in experience without asking

And you don't know if the keyboard is dead. That is why I'm asking questions. Just because you had a similar problem DOES NOT MEAN that ops problem is identical. You cannot jump to baseless conclusions. This is at best a bad guess answer.

It could be a number of things.

Try testing with another keyboard, it could simply be a stuck key.

If you pull up the on screen keyboard, see if that does the same. If it does, there is something wrong entirely. but you can usually see on the on screen keyboard if a key is stuck.

Your Alt or Ctrl buttons may be stuck , or maybe Windows thinks they're pressed / stuck.. it can happen.

Tap all the alt and ctrl and shift keys for a few seconds and try again.

To test your keyboard, an easy way would be to open notepad and try typing various things
