Intel Core i5 9400F and Strix 1060 6GB bottlenecking

aries_head_08

I just bought a 2K 75hz monitor and I tried Cyberpunk 2077. I didn't saw more than 12FPS. Then I tried Doom Eternal and started freezing for some seconds, then I tried Warzone and same as Doom Eternal, even with low fps, not using my 75hz obv. I see in task manager that cpu is at 30 or more %, and GPU is at 100%. I do music and 3D graphics, so I don't need that much FPS in games cuz isn't my job, but you know, it's kinda frustrating playing games at 1080p and low FPS with a 2k 75hz, even 3D renderings in 2k are REALLY slow. (Edit - GPU is even overclocked, but not helping that much) What should I do? I've not that much high budget.

Assume "2k" here means 2560x1440? That's 2.5k and I'm pretty sure every review out there calls this a 1080p (the real 2k) card and other than esports games, wont go much beyond 60fps since the 1060's launch.

Hmm is 1860MHz number a real time reading? I dont recognize the software, but going beyond 2GHz should be easy on high end custom model like the Strix.

I... don't know, I try to don't overclock it too much cuz its my only graphics card, and if it brokes I don't know when I will be economically ok to buy a new one, means no gaming and no 3D graphics for so long. Anyway I didn't know this was a 2.5K, thanks! I don't play esports games, so I think I'm doomed 😕

Nvidia cards are voltage locked with working overtemperature throttling, so dont worry just push it. Not like you're on a cheap card that's worse than founders.

14 is already 16.7% gain on top of 12 😄

Do you get reasonable framerates on more typical resolutions for the 1060 like 1920x1080?

Yes I do, even better at 720 downscaled
