3600 ram only clocking at 2667?

Hey, I have a new build, I'm not really having any problems other than my ram not getting up to speed. I have 2 16GB sticks of 3600mhz and it only ever clocks at 2667. On the bios page it shows up as 2667 and on cpu-z  the same. I have enabled the xmp profile. I'M stumped as to what I'm doing wrong!

(this is my first time with a new build, previously had prebuild)

specs are

Ryzen 7 5800x

Asrock X570 PG Velocita

RTX 2070 Super

2 2TB m.2 ssd

750w psu

Viper Steel 2x16gb DDR4 3600

Maybe there's the second XMP profile. If it has second one.

These sticks though seem to be somewhat bad, at least with 5800X - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/threads/patriot-viper-steel-3600mhz-wont-run-on-xmp.18917596/

you can select which frequency to run with XMP enabled or not. Choose 3600MHz manually.

Tried it manually still no change, from looking in to it more I think the ram is not the best. Should have done a bit more checking before I went for those.

when I was building my pc, I could not get my ram above 2600 no matter what I did. 

I checked my mobo's QVL and didn't see the RAM on their list so I picked up some that was and bam was easy got the 3200mhz I wanted and the only thing I could think of was, It wasn't on my mobo's QVL.

Model doesnt matter, certain units can fail to work on a certain motherboard. This can happen even with the best kits.

 

try clear CMOS.
