CPU Upgrade

Hello I been thinking about upgrade my CPU for awhile I haven’t been getting the FPS I want so I think it is time to upgrade so I have a Arours/gigabyte z370 gaming 5 motherboard and I was looking to get a I9 9900k and was wondering if I do a bios update if it would work I have looked every where and can’t seem to find any info if it can I am looking to do what is cheapest for now and get another mother board down the line or is the i7 10700k better bang for buck i also have to factor a cooler in for either since the one I have won’t do for that much heat and if I do have to get a motherboard which one cheaper

So I looked around and found this website AnAndtech is that a reputable source for info? they had charts of the boards with support mine was there i think I am gonna go i9 9900k what would be a good air cooler can’t be to big tall wise

you have a z370 with a i9 9900k and you are not getting the FPS you want? what are the FPS you want because that CPU is only about 2 years old so it would not be having any issues as far as i can tell.

No I have a z370 and want to upgrade to a i9 9900k I have a i5 8400 and a rtx 2070 super and I been getting in to modding and I believe it is the CPU holding me back
