Hi,

I have a laptop which is from 2012. it is really old. It is a lenovo ideapad Z570. it is originally made with windows 7 installed. but i want to upgrade it to windows 10. it is my dad's work laptop but i use it for playing with my friends. my dad doesn't know if he should upgrade to windows 10. because he is worried that if something happened to the PC. he can't afford another one and he will lose all his work if he didn't backup. so i need to know if it is safe to upgrade to windows 10 with an outdated PC.

The specs:

CPU: Intel Core i7 2670QM

RAM: 4 GB

GPU: Nvidia Geforce GT 520M

Brand: Lenovo ideapad Z570

os: Windows 7 64-bit

It would be really helpful if anybody replies to this cause i am suffering from how programs are now nerfing Windows 7 and blocking it from updates.

Ofc. Even a old pc like core 2 duo can run 10.

one thing: backup everything you dont want to lose

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

it is 100% safe ?
if so how do i upgrade to windows 10

Get a USB drive, plug it into the laptop, and download and run the windows 10 installation media (Here) and chose the USB.

Then turn it off, press the key to go into the boot menu and select the USB. Then go through, and install it onto the drive.

getting back to this topic. i am sorry to say it but this was completely wrong.

the graphics card drivers weren't compatible with windows 10 so the PC didn't boot up correctly every time i start up the PC.

I never needed win10 gpu drivers.

Win 7/8 drivers worked on 10
