Budget (including currency): $9000usd

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:

I go back and forth with league of legends a lot but any time a new MMORPG comes out I'm all over it. I love RPGs in general and I also edit a lot of videos from my other aspects of out doors life. I also need a lot of storage for other work related things.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I was trying to decide on having a work station and a gaming rig and after I watched the video with the Lian Li DK05 I was sold. That will be my case and I already bought one.

As far as monitors go I'm terrible at making good choices so I would love input from audio visual guys! I have plenty of space on the desk and I bought the mounts for the back so I can have up to 3!

I'm going opposite of what Linus and Alex did and putting the gaming rig on the right side of it which will be all new parts.

MSI MEG x570 godlike MB

Ryzen 9 5950x

I cant decide on how much ram but I will most likely go with DDR4 4400

when I can find one I'll be using an RTX 3090 EKWB

storage will be Samsung 980 M.2 roughly 2T for quick load times

I am going liquid cooled on everything and I do plan on hard lines. however unlike the video I'm not going to try custom bends and I'll just by the elbows.

The other spot in the desk is going to be built from my old rig that has parts from roughly 6 years ago and I'll be using it as a NAS storage server to hold everything I'm not using for work as well as games that I am not currently playing.

The only new part I will add to this system is a PCIE networking card that is 2.5gps capable because the one on the existing motherboard does not have it. this should help with file transfer between the two. Other then that I have never done a server set up so any input on that would be fantastic. if I need to use all 8 of the Drive bays in the desk for storage I will. The new board has more then enough M.2 for OS and game storage. All help is appreciated thanks!

Just be aware that your computer won't function without a gpu because the 5950x does not have an igpu. As for monitor it would really depend on what you are going for. 1440p high refreshrate is always a good choice for a balanced experience while 1080p 360hz would be good if you want the maximum refreshrate and responsiveness for competitive gaming. Or you could go 4k for ultimate fidelity and visuals.

Yeah I know it wont work lol I just wont power it up and start anything till I get one. As for the monitor I would love the best picture I can get my hands on and maximum refresh rate wont be that big of a deal since I dont really play FPS competitive shooters. Are the larger curved monitors worth what they cost these days. I live on my laptop for work so anything is more then likely better then that.
