Drivers all up to date

Nvidia Control panel: global settings set to "integrated". Program settings set to "use global setting"(for troubleshooting purposes)

Hey anybody!

I've had my computer for a few months now, and just the other day I noticed that the orange light indicating the Dgpu is always on (this was not the case prior).  I checked the nvidia gpu usage indicator in the systems tray, throttlestop, and task manager and All three show no programs being used, temperature, or MHz from the Dgpu.

Now I understand that it being a gaming laptop, I shouldn't necessarily care about this as it just means my good GPU is running, but I have noticed my battery life has gone from ~14hrs to ~2hrs. I use this computer when I work out of town for gaming and for surfing.

If memory serves me correctly, I noticed the problem after I set Oculus programs to use Dgpu in nvidia control panel in order to troubleshoot a problem. When that experiment failed, I switched it back to integrated and the Dgpu marathon began.

*in the attached photo, it shows as much relevant info as I can think of. You'll notice no gpu activity yet the orange light is on and there is heat coming from the bottom of the laptop indicating activity. when I unplug the laptop, battery life is at 2:13 remaining. before issue was 14+ hrs

please help!

and thank you.

I have not, I will attempt!

I ran DDU. Safe mode>DDU clean and restart. I am now back in normal mode with no nvidia drivers installed and the orange light is still on..

I will now freshly install nvidia studio? driver.

Clean install of nvidia studio driver complete. Global settings returned to integrated. Orange light persists and mocks
