So I bought 2x 500GB 980 Pro samsung ssd's for around $129.99 each. I learned that these are just *ok* and that there are better ones, or more affordable barley different ones. Any suggestions? (NVME 4 preference)

The reason I bought 2 is becasue someone told me it's better to have one store software: Premire Pro, Photoshop, Etc,

And one to store video files.

Additionally I'd like to add a 4tb hdd to my case, any suggestions on one under $100 that I can drag excess or old videos too, and do I need to purchase a rack to install it in my computer case?

Those drives are about as fast as you can get now.

BUt id really get a bigger slower ssd, as almost all footage is much lower bitrate than those drives can handle, and 500gb is pretty small for video projects.

What bitrate are the files your working with?

What's an alternative you'd recommend

Well what kind of footage we are dealing with? 1080p? 4k?

What bitrate is the footage your working with? How big are your projects?

Id probably try to get a 2tb ssd, something like a 970 evo or mid/upper midrange drive.
