DDR2 different notches?

Hi

 

I bought a new set of ram sticks online for a server I have, but it seems as though the notches dont align

I checked online, theyre both ddr2. Is there something I failed to consider?

Ill have to return them either way.

What motherboard are you using?

Does said motherboard support DDR2?

Did you try flipping the sticks?

You're probably looking at ECC or registered sticks.

my ddr 2 ecc dimms are the same notching as non ecc

It's an old server board

there were ddr2 sticks in there already

the old ones are M395T2953CZ4-CD51 -- one gb by samsung, theres also two 512's in there

the ones I bought are HMP31GP7AFR4C-Y5 -- 8gb by hynix

I got them specifically for this server and looked up both again, but they're both ddr2

Both are server sticks and both are ecc if i am correct
