How to change from number to Name?

whm1974

OK I reinstalled Windows 10 this morning and didn't ask for my Name but Email or Phone Number instead. Well my Login Name is my Phone Number. How in Hell do I change this to my actual Name?

Come on Microsoft. Windows 8 didn't do this and was a great deal faster to install as well.

Easiest way to create a windows account that is online (while installing windows) is disconnect it from the internet, then it won't ask you.

But you can create an offline account by selecting creating an account for someone else, and you don't know their sign in details.

No, shut the computer down, disconnect it from the Internet (pull your Ethernet cable), then boot it back up.

Thanks guys. IMHO This shouldn't be necessary.

I've installed Windows 10 probably 100 times across various machines (Home and Pro) and never once encountered this. Its something you selected during the setup process.

I don't see how. Possibly I did because when I Install Windows 10 for the first time, it ask for my name. Maybe I didn't have the Ethernet Cable connected.

I reinstalled without the Ethernet Cable. This with my Name and a Password. No PIN or Email.

Who over at Microsoft thought it was a good ideal to use a PIN and/or  Email address to Login a Computer?

They should be HFCS and Feathered...
