TP-Link router - random internet connection issues

So for a while I've been having an annoying issue, where at random times the majority of my devices will suddenly not be able to reach the internet even though it shows as being connected to Wifi.

 

Checking the router all lights are on as they should be and some devices (wired ones) seem to usually work okay.

My router is dual band and has seperate 2.4 and 5Ghz channels. At first I've noticed 5Ghz devices seem to lose internet first, with only some 2.4Ghz devices following shortly after.

 

I also noticed last night when this happened, when attempting to login to the router's setting in the TP Link app it said it couldn't find any devices to connect to.

 

The most annoying thing with this problem is there doesn't seem to be any pattern with when or what devices exactly it happens too.

 

The only way I've found to fix it is to reboot the router, but then I know it will happen again a few days or so later, though occasionally it's happened more than once in a day.

 

I've tried factory resetting and updating the router's firmware with neither making any difference to the situation.

Test to see if you get the same behaviour with any device directly connected to the router over ethernet.
