Storage drives can be SSD or HDD

Depending on what you get you will have different speed expectations.

If you are buying an SSD as long as you get one with a dRAM cache it will have longer logevity.

If you are buying HDD's the seagate baracudda 1&2tb seem to be very popular.

Please clarify what drive your looking to get (SSD or HDD)

Imo unless you either have a lot of money to spend or need less than 1TB of storage, you should run a small (128-512GB) SSD for your OS, programs, etc and a 1TB or larger HDD for games and other large files.

Quite bad drives, Barracudas are notoriously unreliable. I would strongly recommend a WD Blue instead.

Brand and models matter, each model from each brand have different speed and warranty.

HDD is a bit easier, you can randomly pick any brand and it would perform relatively the same.

The top 3 brand for SSD:

- Samsung

- Crucial

- WD

Other popular brand, but not necessary the best : Sandisk, Kingston, Corsair, Adata just to name a view.

Ryzen 5700g @ 4.4ghz all cores | Asrock B550M Steel Legend | 3060 | 2x 16gb Micron E 2666 @ 4200mhz cl16 | 500gb WD SN750 | 12 TB HDD | Deepcool Gammax 400 w/ 2 delta 4000rpm push pull | Antec Neo Eco Zen 500w
