My PC Build, Please Advice
Hey, buld looks good I would say. As you mention currently GPU's are... welll... you know... So I won't go into that, get whatever you can get.
Ryzen 5 3600 and a 3060 are a perfect pairing afaik, I'm pretty sure you could go up to even a 3070 and still be fine. It depends a little on what games you play, but unless you play a lot of CPU intensive games, you should see absolutely no CPU problems. You can just google the games you play a lot and that should give you an idea, but I can't imagine it being a problem.
Cooling wise, you don't have a cooler listed so I assume you will be using the stock AMD cooler. It is very difficult to say for sure, if it will be enough. There are many factors that contribute to this, like load, case fan configuration etc. One thing people don't mention is the ambient temperature. You need different cooling solutions in northern Europe compared to say, south India. Since you say you have 5 case coolers, there is a good chance the stock cooler will be fine. But lucky for you, cooler upgrades are really one of the easiest upgrades to make (financially speaking, but even installing them is not that bad). So I recommend trying out this build as is, and then if you find that your thermals are going to high, simply getting a budget but reliable cooler around 30-40$. While you wait for it to arrive, you can simply lower the overclock a bit for the couple of days or weeks.
The only two things I would think about is:
- A B550 motherboard: The price increase is marginal, about 50 $ more. Considering you are spending 4000, this really should be something you think about. You get a slightly more modern chipset with better PCIe lanes. Considering how much money you are spending on a computer, there is a chance you might want to upgrade at some point, so the small price is worth it IMO.
- Better RAM: Here you have two options, either faster or larger RAM. How much RAM you need is up to you, 16 is enough but 32 can be ncie to have depending on the software you use. AMD CPU's are really nice with a slightly faster ram, so maybe looking at 3600 RAM speeds is something you can do. Again both of these upgrades should cost you around 50$ dollars more and could bring a noticeable improvement. But it's up to you.
