Computer acting up

Hello, I have a good pc with a 10900k and a 2080ti. I can easily run superposition at 8k with no issues(no frame drops or skips). The moment I run fortnite(epic settings, even low settings) I get super bad frame drops and skips. It goes from 240 to like 20 and then back agian. What is causing this? I have plenty of ram(32gb) with xmp on in dual channel. Minecraft also seems to some frame drops

I doubt it’s the cpu or the gpu specifically.  Those are the only parts discussed though.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.
