PC gray screen

Recently my dad noticed that our computer (the Msi codex XE) was having a problem, it was interesting because it would happen a decent amount of time while booting basically it would have a fully gray screen almost every time during the booting, sometimes it would just not boot up after the gray screen but sometimes it would, also the cursor was visible on the screen when it was gray and we could open the task manager and other stuff, My dad thinks its the GPU (Nvidia RTX 1070) because when we boot it without the GPU its normal, also only one of the ez debug led's turn on then turn off and when you open the task manager it shows the GPU on 0% on everything on the performance tab.
