What should I do?

Go to solution Solved by SAV1OUR,

OC the hell out of the old chip and see how far it goes then switch in the new one of its sable

So, my Asus Z77 Sabertooth bundle arrived today with an i7 3770K and 16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM (Cost me £200 for all of it)

Other than testing the motherboard, there's little I can do, as swapping out my motherboard for this one wouldn't really make any sense seeing as I'll be changing my current case as part of the upgrade. Should I swap out my processor and see what kind of over-clock I can get on this one?

When taking my old i7 out I realized I'd mounted the H100i pretty badly in terms of thermal paste distribution. It was covering about 1/2 the IHS! This i7 either has much better temperatures, or I mounted it much more successfully this time around.

I still dont get this topic.... either you answer to your self an obvious question or there is a question somewere hidden and I cant find it... :P or you just wanted to inform us that you got new gear for a rediculous price? (if thats true >:Ρ)

The reason I asked whether I should OC the second 3770K is because it's never been over-clocked, and sometimes that tends to bring the value of the processor down (if I were to sell this one).

EDIT: Yes, it is true. and I feel mostly happy, but slightly guilty about it. :P
