As a person who has just started his journey as a programmer I have no idea which system is ideal for it. My aim is to be able to develop and also do some light gaming and with so many options available on the market it is difficult to choose which best suits the needs. I hope someone can answer this question.

It depends what you're programming, but if you're just starting out, most if not all modern laptops will run an IDE like VS Code or VS fine. Of course it would be best if you could get the best laptop that fits your budget. So what's your budget?

You want vertical screen resolution and a comfortable keyboard.  You want enough pixels to show more lines of code, otherwise you'll be looking at your code through a mail slot.  Comfortable keyboard is self-explanatory.  Especially watch how well your hands find syntax symbols when touch-typing.  Otherwise coding will be annoying.

Performance isn't as important.  You just want enough memory to run your IDE of choice.

I heard Microsoft Surface Laptop devices have a premium typing feel and certainly do have a lot of pixels on their screens, and sport a sensible aspect ratio.  You aren't there to watch TV after all.

This post has been ninja-edited while you weren't looking.

I'm a used parts bottom feeder.  Your loss is my gain.

I like people who tell good RGB jokes.
