Hello

i have recently purchased a Asus tuf VG249Q1R monitor, and I must admit it was a bit of a impulse buy. But I thought I would get a monitor that can display 144hz to be prepared for when I get a ps5

But I haven’t been able to get it to display 1080p 144 hz through hdmi (on pc) but it might be because I have an outdated hdmi cable, not sure tho. Can anyone clarify if it’s possible to get 144hz on this monitor using hdmi?

May also need to check Windows Display Settings ->Advanced and poke around till you find the frequency setting - my 144hz panel was set to 60hz until I changed it within windows settings (the last one I got)

Alright thanks for the answer! I’m not sure what kind of hdmi cable I have, but I started researching and found out that some monitors don’t support 144hz using hdmi, but only DP. So I got spooked as I have already thrown out the box and packaging. But I have just ordered a new cable so now it’s time to pray

I have already tried that :/, but 60hz was the highest refresh rate I was able to find. I really hope it’s just due to an outdated hdmi cable

As I said, HDMI 1.4 only goes up to 120Hz, DP 1.2 goes up to 144Hz.
