Keyboard

Go to solution Solved by Scia,

Mechanical Keyboard use mechanical switches [cptn obvious is obvious] which have a much longer lifetime [50'000'000 clicks vs 2'000'000 clicks] and feel a lot better. You might need a week to get used to them but they're worth it.

While mechanical keys have different "feelings" you can choose from, membrane keyboards are all the same mushy shit that feels like touching a fat guy.

I'd go with the G710+ if you like Logitech. Gave it to my bro for Xmas. Fucking awesome.

The 710+ has brown switches [tactical bump, silent] and o-rings  [noise dampening]. Browns are some of the best switches imho and are nice allrounders [will not be as shitty as reds or blacks for typing, and are nice for gaming].

But Ultimately the choice of switch if up to you. I personally prefer blues [noisy browns basically].

If you have the chance to try them in a shop or something, go do so and figure out which switch is for you.

BUt I can recommend the 710+ as a keyboard for newly addicts. Very very very solid keyboard :) [And one of the keyboards along with Ducky and Filco I'd consider buying, if my Ducky died, which is close to impossible as mech boards will last you for 20yrs if you don't spill water on them :)]

Hi this is my second post and i was wondering what is the difference between membrane and mechanical keyboards? I live in Australia and have been looking at the G19s for quite some time i like the back lighting and the logitech software also the looks of the g19 are appealing.

Is mechanical better for gaming or membrane?

I am planing to buy one (keyboard) for my first gaming rig i just got and i was wondering what is the best gaming keyboard for around $150

Any advice and guidance would be helpful as you can see i am a complete noob

There's no such thing as a keyboard that's best for gaming. It's all preference.

For info about mechanical keyboards: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyboard_technology
