Dell XPS Shutdown and Sleep Issues

jdoty

Hi All,

I have recently purchased a Dell XPS 17 9700. It has an Intel Core i9-10885H CPU @ 2.40Ghz with 32 GB RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060. Anytime I try and shut the computer down it will go through the proper screens to shutdown and will appear to actually shutdown however the fans will never shut down and the CPU will still produce heat. (Learned this from placing it in my bag the first day and it was very hot when I got home.) In order to fully shutdown I have to hold the power button down. Also, if I try to put the computer to sleep overnight it will act as though it does sleep but then will not awake the next day. I have to hard reboot and it wants to run a memory test. (I have run the test and it doesn't find anything.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!!
