Simple Question, I think...

Budget (including currency):

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly Gaming

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I'm building a new PC.  The only parts I will be carrying over from my old PC are: Graphics Card GTX 1080, Power Supply , SSD and HDD and the active Windows 10 and all other programs that are already loaded on them.

So my question is will I have any problems plugging in an SSD with windows that was running on the previous PC?  If you need any further information please ask and I will do my best to provide it.  Thank you.

usually when you change cpu and motherboard it's good to go for a fresh windows install.

It should work assuming you are connected to internet and the low level default drivers work. It is still recommended to reinstall windows and select keep files because it does remove all traces of the previous PC's hardware. But otherwise it will just revert to stuff like the basical display driver from 2006 and other's just to get to the login screen. Also when you swap it out you may be unable to POST. Toggling between UEFI/Legacy and CSM On/Off or a combination of the four usually solves the issue.

Fuck you scalpers, fuck you scammers, fuck all of you jerks that charge way too much to tech-illiterate people.

Unless I say I am speaking from experience or can confirm my expertise, assume it is an educated guess.

Thank you Nathan and Boggy for the replies.  I'll do the reinstall and keep files.  I really appreciate the help.
