I have recently bought a Gigabyte 990fxa-UD3, the motherboard is working correctly for the most part. every other time i boot my comp i will have a hang up or a bsod while running certain programs, Core temp is one of them. this only happens on every other boot tho. the rest of the time everything will work fine until my pc is restarted then it will crash on core temp then once restarted its fine again. this also happened on my old gigabyte board a 970a-ds3,i have re-installed windows 7 & 8 and am still having this problem. i would have thought that it was another piece of hardware causing the problem but when i built my new rig everything was replaced. is this a problem that any body else has encountered?

My hardware:

Gigabyte 99FXA-UD3

FX 8320

Kingston Hyperx 8Gb 1600mhz

Evga 660ti

Coolermaster GX650 psu

I would uninstall Core Temp and install HWMonitor to monitor your cpu temps and seeing that if it still BSODs.

i have uninstalled core temp, i still get the hangups but it will happen in game or when another program opens up. its just a matter of time, but then i restart and it will run sweet.

Check your applications/services to see if any of them is eating your cpu/ram usage.

no, nothing is eating my resources. i have tried different combo's of installed programs and even from a clean boot with no programs installed i will still have the hang up if i open media player. but then reboot and all goes away.

Have you tried doing a clean install of Windows to see if it helps? I think you can install it on a different drive so you can avoid the trouble of backing up your stuff.
