Can I add 2 16bg ram sticks if i currently have 2 8Gb sticks?

Title,

timing and frequency would be the same, as well as brand and type of  ram (G.skill Trident z RGB) only difference will be size of sticks so the total will be 48GB.

just want to make sure this will work together before i spend $200 :)

Yes you can mix RAM without your system freaking out you just might have to manually set the speed of the ram as XMP might not work.

Assuming you are correct and the timings are the same, then I guess you could. Just keep the like sticks paired together on your mobo. I do know that manufactures make revisions to their ram over time that they don't necessarily announce, such as changing the ram chips they use. It shouldn't kill your system or anything though, but I still can't promise that the different sets will play nice out of the box.

there is no 100% especially if you get out of spec

It may or may not work, but most likely it'll work

 

Just put each stick from each kit in alternate slots, meaning one gap between the sticks from the same kit

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately
