Hi I'm still considered pretty new to building computer and needed some advice on finding a motherboard. I really just want something that has a usb 3.1 (i think that's what its called) type c plug in and it has to be fit for a mid tower. I dont need one with wifi especially due to how expensive ones with wifi can get, and i'm not worried about having a bunch of rgb headers too. Just a plain, simple yet newer motherboard. I'm currently rocking with a Gigabyte Z97X-SLI-CF. I know you can buy pci cards that include usb c converters but I am also just upgrading the pc in general.

You do know that to get a new motherboard with a Type-C front header plug, you'll need a new CPU and new RAM too, right?
Z97 is an LGA1150 board that supports 4th and 5th gen Intel chips and DDR3. Every single board that I've seen with a Type-C front header plug has been either LGA1200 or AM4, which doesn't support 4th and 5th gen Intel chips or DDR3.

What you could do, though, is get a PCIe card that has a Type-C plug. Are you wanting to do a completely new build or just swap out your case and motherboard?

PLEASE STOP [Killing] ME I WILL GIVE Y OU ANOTHER DEAL.

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz   3.60 GHz currently though I will be looking to upgrade in the near future

theres quite a handful of motherboards for that cpu,

though let me warn you that the prices may be higher than you assume.

Since the interests for haswell cpus has nearly completely diminished over the years, motherboards can be hard to find and sometimes expensive compared to newer models

Yeah unfortunately I do,  This was my first pc so I'm definitely working to take some time to upgrade it so that hopefully by the time its done in a couple months graphics cards aren't ridiculous

Thank you so much this helped a lot. Looking at this ill definitely just get a new processor and motherboard together since I only have a 5th gen CPU. I know there's like a 10th gen now lol
