That happened to my first gtx 1060. The shop said it was defective memory so they replaced it (it was new then) . Then replacement corroded after a few months .... now im stuck with an rx580

Im with the mentaility of "IF IM NOT SURE IF ITS ENOUGH COOLING, GO OVERKILL"

GPU             : ASUS RX 580 Dual OC (Formerly ASUS GTX 1060 but it got corroded for some odd reasons)

The OS still responds when this happens right? Do they show up when you make a screenshot (rather than taking picture of the monitor)?

I should have taken a screenshot but yes the OS was responding and I had a second monitor that was also showing the same thing, and moving any window through the boxes would invert the colors, or black it out.

the system would lock up if it's a driver issue and it will crash soon if it's a VRAM issue or GPU issue. My guess is the display output part going wrong, not sure if it's a one time glitch or early signs of failure.

When I run nicehash sometime I would get a random restart without a bluescreen or get a system lockup, so I don't know if its going to be a onetime. Btw its a 3070.

Up to date drivers? Sounds like the same thing 3080 and 3090 suffer from during launch period

Yea always updating everything, since my rig has been soo unstable. I haven't been playing too much games but the few times I have play GTA 5 I had one time crash where my computer forcing a restart without bluescreen a few minutes into the game and faces micro Sutter throughout the other times. I also had a one time experience of micro stutters on league of legends.

You can try underclocking the core and memory, that will help with unstable graphics cards. Now you're not getting stock performance of the GPU and can RMA the card.

 

It will take some time to RMA tho since no one has enough stock to replace cards.
