Hey there,

I wanted to build a computer for a friend, using my old GPU : a MSI GTX970. Last time I used it it worked great, but it sat a couple of years in it's box. And when I went and assembled the PC, it worked for about a minute, the computer crashed and now I can't get a fan spin or video output from it.  Of course, the GPU market being what it is, repairing the card seems to be my best shot. (I know I could go for a CPU with integrated graphics but I have a perfectly good Ryzen 5 I'd rather use)

I have already tested the card in my own rig connected to a known good monitor, and same thing happened : no fan spin, no video, but the heat pipes quickly get hot to the touch so I know the card draws power.
For good measure I tested the card on a different motherboard, with a different PSU and RAM, same result.

I'm at the limit of my knowledge, so I'm looking for someone who would know what to do to test the card further/has experience with similar problems and know how to fix it. I have the tools to dissassemble the card, and some spare thermal paste in case I need to remove the heatsink. I don't have a multimeter tho.

Thanks in advance !

PS : I know it's bad etiquette to have one's first post on a forum be asking for help, but I've watched LTT for years and this is the first place that came to mind to ask for help for this. Anyway, sorry for adding to the pile of 1 post user asking for help.
