Build as follows:

CPU: Ryzen 3950x w/PBO

MB: Gigabyte Aorus Pro B550

RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo @ 3600Mhz

GPU: Gigabyte 8GD Radeon Rx 5700 Xt Gaming OC

PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 850w

There is no real common factor as to when it happens; today was I was doing some basic work(Server maintenance so nothing hardcore in terms of resources) and my computer rebooted.  This is not the first time, and those with a GF1 power supply know the tell-tale 'click' of the PSU when it reboots the PC(I don't know if that means more than that let me know if it does!)

Eventviewer is less than helpful as their are no errors/warnings proceeding the event: "The previous system shutdown at TIME on DATE was unexpected."

However, about 5 mins prior to that reboot there two Event ID 19's, both with the description:

A corrected hardware error has occurred.

Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Unknown Error Source
Error Type: No Error
Processor APIC ID: 0

I've attempted my best at "Google-fu" to troubleshoot this myself but thought I'd reach out here, maybe someone else has this issue and has figured it out?!?

On a side note, it's not multiple times a day, or even everyday, it is very random as far as I can tell.

Any pointers/tips/help/etc is greatly appreciated.

Had this happen to a friend of mine a few months ago. It was also completely random. Sometimes a few days without issues, sometimes 2 reboots in 10 minutes. We troubleshooted for weeks and didn't manage to find the issue. Then we installed a BIOS update and he's been stable ever since.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

I am currently on Bios Build F13g, the latest from Gigabyte for my mobo, I should say I am very proactive when it comes to updates, but  thanks for the suggestion!!

Who knows if the latest Windows update didn't do something as well.....

Just happened again, went out to client site, came back.  Woke from sleep then reboot.

black screen, RGB LED's turn off(they are set to stay on even when computer is sleep/off) complete reboot with POST and all.

Event Viewer:

image.png.1343f1d4372d44ed15e69bca8a0bce05.png

The 10:19 error:

The previous system shutdown at 10:17:46 AM on ‎4/‎13/‎2021 was unexpected

There is also the BTHUSB warning, which is my fingerprint reader which says it just timed out, had it for a bit and issues were present prior to installation, but just in case here is the information: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NAVWPOJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

try this:

open powershell and paste:

 Get-WinEvent -FilterHashtable @{logname = 'System'; id = 1074, 6005, 6006, 6008}  |
                     ForEach-Object {
$EventData = New-Object PSObject | Select-Object Date, EventID, User, Action, Reason, ReasonCode, Comment, Computer, Message, Process
                         $EventData.Date = $_.TimeCreated
                         $EventData.User = $_.Properties[6].Value
                         $EventData.Process = $_.Properties[0].Value
                         $EventData.Action = $_.Properties[4].Value
                         $EventData.Reason = $_.Properties[2].Value
                         $EventData.ReasonCode = $_.Properties[3].Value
                         $EventData.Comment = $_.Properties[5].Value
                         $EventData.Computer = $Computer
                         $EventData.EventID = $_.id
                         $EventData.Message = $_.Message

$EventData | Select-Object Date, Computer, EventID, Action, User, Reason, Message

                     }

basically the same as Get-WinEvent -FilterHashtable @{logname = 'System'; id = 1074, 6005, 6006, 6008} but better formatted

should give you an overview on why the restarts are happening

From online it says to check updates, and ofc windows troubleshooter.

This is the second Tuesday so possibly issues with Windows Update, but this isn't just from today so I don't see it being specifically that.

I will update with any further research/events if they occur.
