Hello LTT Forum, I had a question about caching a 2 Tb HDD with a 256Gb M.2 SSD. I have an older Seagate 7200rpm hard drive for my main game storage and a 256 Gb Samsung 970 Evo Plus that I was gifted. I am planning on purchasing a new 1 Tb ssd like an 860 EVO, 970 EVO, or 665p so I can finally fit games like Call of Duty onto my SSD. Since I have this extra ssd, is it worth it to set up the drive as a cache for my HDD or just continue using it as extra storage for some games. I am leaning towards using it to cache my drive but I don't know if the performance benefits are worth it when I could store 5-10 games on the small ssd instead. I am running a Ryzen 7 1700X on a Gigabyte Aorus Elite V2 so I would likely use StoreMI to do this. Additionally, I have 2x8 Gb of 3200 Mhz ram from G.Skill.
