I have a 2070 Super from a friend, looking for help with the rest. I’d like a small to medium sized setup but would settle for a bigger rig if it gets me more performance for my money.

Budget (including currency): US build. Looking to keep the parts list below 850, preferably below 800.

Country: US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Currently an XBOX user wanting to start building and using PC. I play FPS and games like scrap mechanic and trail makers. I’m not looking to max anything out, but I’d like to get the best performance for my money like anyone else.

Side note: I like the AMD CPUs but I’m open to suggestion there too.

You could most like go with the basic b450m for the motherboard, a 3600 or a 1600af, a good 3000 8 gigs should enough and you can try and find a rx570 on the used market for a cheap decent build. This is without the case or psu or storage. Take in consideration that you can buy cases on sale in new egg with pre installed fans to save as much as possible.

The budget allows for more than you think since gpu is not included

I like this build. Could you explain a bit the difference between yours and one I put together. Take on account I have no idea what I’m doing but I’m handy with a screwdriver and electricity.

You have a bigger case, a more expensive power supply and windows included. This comes at the cost of the CPU and motherboard. I did not include windows in my list, If I did mine would be ~$70 more expensive, but I would argue probably worth it.

Also, the case and motherboard I chose was smaller.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/XxxdTJ maybe this is more like it haha. Ive never been able to build a pc on a high budget so I was just giving you what I thought would be a good pc for cheap. The case is around 60 bucks when in stock, and you can just buy a windows key off a 3rd party website for a lot cheaper.

This seems pretty good, except power supply is weak, would go for a more premium unit

Would you say the build you made is a better build? If so it’s better and smaller and that’s a double win.
