Hello to anyone who may see this!

I owned a relatively outdated computer, but recently had it upgraded and fitted with a new CPU, GPU, RAM, Motherboard and CPU Cooler  (The hard drive however, has been kept the same, and it is the same hard drive that Ive been using since 2016).

New System Specs:

- i5-9400F

- Cooler Master Hyper 212x Cooler

- 8GB DDR4 2666Mhz

- Gigabyte GA-H310M S2H 2.0 mATX Motherboard

- GTX 1060 3GB

- 1TB Hard drive

- Genuinely don't know the wattage of my power supply as there aren't any visible labels on it

Now, after receiving my computer back from the repair place which fitted my computer with these new components, I have noticed that overall performance and gaming performance has significantly decreased, to the point where I'm finding alternative devices to use to complete certain tasks. Windows 10 loads extremely slowly (Which is obviously due to the hard drive), however navigating around Windows 10 and even basic browsing has been an absolute pain, as I always experience extremely slow performance, and random freezes and stutters. Gaming performance, which is crucial to me since I use the computer mainly for gaming, is even worse. Most games can't maintain 60FPS (And in most, if not every game, even reducing the games graphical settings to its lowest preset doesn't help), and games always stutter and there are constant frame drops. I'm even unable to play some games (Namely Modern Warfare and Battlefield V), as they are purely unplayable due to the poor performance.

Now, here's my question, could these issues be resolved by replacing my hard drive, especially the poor gaming performance, or could there be something else which is causing the issue?

I look forward to hearing back from you guys, it'd mean a lot!

Cheers,

Liam.

I would try doing a fresh install of windows and seeing if that fixes it. An SSD would definitely help but its not going to make games perform any better it's just going to fix load times.

Gaming Desktop - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus, 32GB Cosair Vengenace LP 3600mhz, EVGA RTX 3070 XC3 Ultra,  Sabrent Rocket 4 1TB NVME SSD, Crucial P3 4TB NVME SSD, 4TB Mass storage, EVGA 750W G2, NZXT H9 Flow
