Hey everyone! A little over a year ago, I had bought a NZXT BLD PC with some decent specs, all put together inside of a black H710i. But recently, I've been having multiple fan failures. One happened around June/July, and now a couple weeks ago I had one up top go completely kaput, with other ones beginning to make noise. The two I've had fail before are the ones on my Kraken Z73, which I believe to be NZXT Aer P 120 mm fans, and the ones in the case itself are Aer F 120 mm fans. I have contacted NZXT about the issue, and the first time they sent me a new fan, but this time I am still waiting for them to respond after 9-10 days, and I'm pretty sure my processor is going to cook itself alive if nothing is done about it. It has always run somewhat hot (40-45 degrees idle, 60-70 degrees while gaming) as the NZXT H710i doesn't have great cooling, but because of the fans, my processor is now idling around 55-65 degrees C, with it sometimes shooting into the high 70s low 80s when gaming, essentially putting me on hold for the time being. The question I have for you all is: what fans would you recommend for my case/components, and what ones have you guys had luck with? I'll list the specs below so you know what we're working with. I would greatly appreciate your help!

Processor: Ryzen 3950x 16-core processor @ 3.5GHz

AIO: NZXT Kraken Z73 (Top-Mounted, exhaust oriented, using 3x NZXT Aer P 120mm fans)

Case: NZXT H710i [Black] (using 4x NZXT Aer F 120mm fans)

Motherboard: ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi)

RAM: G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) @ 3600MHz

GPU: ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER AMP

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G5

If you'd like top-of-the-line performance and are willing to sacrifice RGB, you can't go wrong with Noctua fans; specifically, Chromax black fans (unless you like the rust-and-beige look their standard fans have).

For your Z73 AIO, use the NF-F12 and, for the case fans, the NF-S12A.

Be Quiet! is a good blackout performance option too (they also lack RGB), use their Silent Wings 3 120mm.

If you're looking for RGB, Corsair's my own personal go-to. Two of their fans I'd recommend would be the LL120 (more RGB) or ML120 (more performance). Keep in mind that if you'd like to use either of these you will need to buy a separate Corsair Commander Pro hub (fits 6 fans) for both the fans and RGB to work.

The Noctua and Be Quiet! fans can plug straight into your motherboard.

Hey!

So far I've had the best of luck using a variety of Noctua and BeQuiet-Fans after having used Corsair, NZXT and various no-name fans in the past.

Currently I use Noctua NF-P12s as my case exhaust fans, BeQuiet Silent Wings 3/2200RPM fans for my GPU radiator and CPU cooler as well as BQ Silent Wings 3/1300RPM versions as my intake fans (all 120mm).

Both the NF-P12 as well as the SW3 perform equally well, but I wasn't a fan of the "darker"/deeper drone of the NF-P12s when going full throttle.

My system is also inside a rather small and air restricted case, very comparable to the h710i, but both CPU and GPU are just a few °C above ambient while idling and somewhere between 30-60°C when gaming, depending on the load - all of this while being either completely silent or not much louder than your average GPU blower style fan when under load.

If you're going for performance the Noctua A12x25 should also be considered, but their price tag was just too high for my personal build at ~$30 a pop. If you're not shy of trying out something I've also heard good things about the Arctic P12, they go for about $7 a piece and are usually among the highest ranking fans in the shorter past..
