Hey! So I recently bought a pc with the following specs:
-Amd ryzen 7 2700x
-Nvidia RTX 3070 (16GB)
-16GB RAM
I've noticed that my pc should realistically run minecraft at 200+fps however it only reaches a maximum of 97. Would anyone know why it's only limited to that?

What speed does your RAM run at?
Also, do you have a framerate cap enabled? Look under Video Settings.

And hold up, there is no consumer version of the 3070 with 16GB of VRAM. Someone modded it to have 16GB, but it was really unstable.

PLEASE STOP [Killing] ME I WILL GIVE Y OU ANOTHER DEAL.

The ram runs at 2133MHz. Sorry about the confusion, just realised, it's 8GB for the graphics card not 16GB.

Considering you are under the impression the graphics card had 16gb of memory onboard, I'm guessing your specs are quoted from whomever sold you the system. Time to physically check a few things, like:

1. how much RAM you really have, and...

2. how many physical sticks of RAM you have, if you do show 16gb of system memory

If you have 16gb of RAM, but in only one physical stick, the lack of dual channel could hurt you heavily.

The other thing that should be obvious, is if you're not running a bunch of junk in the background, or at the same time as you are playing your Minecraft.

I have a 2x8 RAM with physical memory being 16GB ofc. I usually only have spotify and discord open during playtime.

I'm guessing you know how dual channel RAM is supposed to be installed, and that your system is configured properly.

I get running Discord, but not so much Spotify. I do hope you've shut down/disabled the lines of OneDrive and DropBox from running all the time in the background, if you don't actually use them constantly.

That could be your problem.Ryzen CPUs (like the one you have) are heavily dependent on fast ram.

Minecraft barely uses your RTX 3070,it mostly used your CPU,and the CPU is suffering alot from slow ram.

Check if ram is not running in jdc speeds. That could cause some cpu bottleneck. Also run cinebench and check your score. And for gpu try to run heaven benchmark(still good for strest test and gpu validation). If your scores are same as other pc with same parts. You will need to reinstall Minecraft or nvidia drivers.
