Hi guys, wanted to get some more information about printers/scanners/all in one. I need some printing here and there but it is a pain to find any shop opened in my area who does it or is even opened. So I thought maybe it is better to buy printer myself.

I would like to have there scanner too, possible two page printing as well. The rest is something I do know nothing or little about (laser or other and stuff). Any suggestions or what to look for? It is only for home use. Budget max at 160GBP/270CAD (lower the better). Thanks

What kind of printing do you need done? Photos, documents, colour, B&W?

For day to day document printing, a laser printer will be fine. If you don’t even need colour prints, a monochrome laser printer to be specific. I got the Brother DCP-L2550DW for myself and the in-laws because it had good reviews and the toner cartridges are fairly inexpensive. You can even get aftermarket high density cartridges for less! It has a flatbed scanner for scans and copies, an automatic and manual feed tray, and can do automatic full duplex printing/copying. Both USB and network printing are supported.

Everything. But definitely colour print, BW as well and maybe sometimes home made pictures, just anything I need. I never print photos at home yet, because that printing on photo paper back in 2010 was not great or I did not know how to, then I never tried again. But would be nice to being able to do this too.

Unless half or more of your prints require colour I'd do a laser printer and get colour prints done at a Staples or something.
