Hello everyone! I am planning on building a custom mechanical keyboard later on in the year, and I had some specific questions about certain parts of my build. Here is the plan:

GMMK Pro

Alpaca Linears

Durock v2 Stabs to replace the "GOAT" stabs

Deskeys Switch Films

Krytox 205g0

Sidenote: There really needs to be something like pcpartpicker except for mechanical keyboards....

Here are my questions:

1. For the switch springs, is it fine to bag lube them, or does that only work with a thinner lube?

2. I heard there were issues with the gmmk pro plate fitting 3rd party stabs, is that something that will be worked on for later batches?

3. Anyone who has used Alpacas have any thoughts on whether filming is worth it? Honestly I'll probably just film them anyways, but worth an ask.

4. Overall thoughts? Any alternatives to the gmmk pro? I think it is a pretty good deal for the features that it has, and without the meh stabs that it has, it could be really good.

1. I would only bag lube with Krytox oil, not any of the greases. GPL 105 is what I've used to bag lube.

2. Don't know.

3. I have and do think it's worth it. It makes the upstroke sound cleaner.

4. The GMMK pro is a good deal for the price. Not my taste in form factor though.  But IMO all stabs, even the very high end ones, are just meh. They all need to be lubed and tuned to be any good.

Yeah I’ll definitely be lubing and tuning those durock stabs till I’m happy with them. Thanks for the other help!
